A little bit about me.

I’m Lucy, a graphic designer based in York. I currently work in higher education, creating everything from campaigns and publications to event materials, illustration and information design.

I work across both print and digital, taking projects from initial ideas through to finished artwork. I’ve built up strong print production knowledge along the way, from preparing artwork and choosing stocks and finishes to working with printers and understanding the practicalities of getting a design from screen to press.

I love taking something complicated, finding the clearest way to communicate it, and making it look good along the way. My work is colourful, thoughtful and usually involves a healthy amount of problem-solving.

I’m happiest working across a mix of projects — whether that’s designing a prospectus, illustrating a campus map, developing a campaign or creating wedding stationery.

A few things I do:

Campaign design · Publications & editorial · Illustration · Information design · Print production · Digital design · Event graphics

When I’m not designing…

I’m probably still making something — just with considerably fewer deadlines. I love crochet, painting and generally having a craft project on the go. When my hands aren’t occupied, I’m usually buried in a book, particularly anything sci-fi or fantasy.

My hobbies have a habit of multiplying, so there’s nearly always a half-finished project somewhere waiting for me to come back to it.
